The team at AZTI have created some fantastic videos to get children cooking and tasting some healthy recipes.
The videos feature primary school children cooking delicious meals alongside chef Tatsuya Iwasaki. The recipes aim to incorporate ingredients that might be new to children, such as fish, and cooking alongside a chef in these videos seeks to achieve a positive experience with nutritious foods.
Chef Tatsuya Iwasaki takes the children through the recipe step-by-step from preparing the raw ingredients to plating up and tasting their creations. At the end of the video you will find a recommended portion guide related to your child’s age, the nutritional composition of the dish (carbohydrate and fat content for example), and the nutritional importance of the main ingredient. The suitability of the dish is also shown, based on what foods your child has already eaten that day.
This initiative aims to emphasise the idea that children who are more involved in the preparation of their meals will be more inclined to try new foods and less likely to reject more unusual foods to them like fish and some vegetables.
