The Centre for Public Health within the School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast produces high quality research programmes with collaboration between clinical experts and scientists within skills in biochemistry, epidemiology, genetics and statistics. The overarching mission of our research is to advance the health of the public at a regional, national and international level, by increasing knowledge and influencing clinical and public health practice and policy. Queen’s University Belfast has a strong track record in school-based research and researchers within the team have experience in designing bespoke nutrition and lifestyle interventions for a number of population groups.
As part of the EIT Food School Network, Queen’s University will lead an aspect of the work package which involves secondary schools in particular, and involves engagement with key school-related stakeholders. Queen’s University will also be responsible for the wider communication strategy for the overall EIT Food School Network that is aligned with the project’s short- and long-term aims.
