University of Warsaw

The university of Warsaw was founded in 1816 and comprises 18 faculties including natural sciences, social sciences, law, pedagogy, and computer science. It is the largest university in Poland and a leader in both educational and scientific rankings. The Faculty of Psychology within the University of Warsaw, established more than 100 years ago, combines modern scientific thought with a rich tradition. Both the University of Warsaw and its Faculty of Psychology have been in leading positions in various Polish educational and scientific rankings for many years.

The University of Warsaw will be responsible for tackling the psychological aspects of food choice, as well as conducting a pilot study on the effectiveness of the tools developed in the first year of the EIT Food School Network. This encompasses all levels of education: preschool, primary and secondary school. The Polish team’s experience in research in child welfare, safety, psycho-dietetics and evidence-based programme evaluation, combined with a well-established network with schools and NGO working in the field of child positive dietary behaviour, gives a strong basis to effectively fulfil this goal.
