The Mindful Eating programme is an innovative educational programme for pre-school, primary and secondary level education. The programme is designed to enhance mindfulness of the eating process and aims to increase pupils’ ability to identify signals coming from the body (hunger and satiety) and to experience sensations associated with eating. It also aims to motivate pupils to actively reduce food wastage.
The programme was created by the team at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw and materials were reviewed by educators and nutrition experts in Poland and across the other countries in the School Network.
The programme materials are comprehensive and designed to assist teachers in the delivery of this new programme. They are available for pre-school, primary school and secondary school in four languages. Materials include a Mindful Eating video, PowerPoint presentations and accompanying script, pupil worksheets, at-home activities, posters, and a teacher’s manual. The number of lessons and worksheets vary according to educational level.
