The Clinical Skills Education Centre is located on the second floor of the Medical Biology Centre (MBC). This state of the art facility provides both clinical skills training and revision and assessment facilities. It is used extensively by medical students and doctors in training.
Since it opened, in 2007, the centre has achieved national and international success in the delivery of clinical skills education to both undergraduate and postgraduate trainees in medicine and nursing.
Clinical skills training spans all phases of the medical undergraduate curriculum ranging from basic life support training in Phase 1 to high-fidelity simulation training in Phases 4 and 5. The centre also provides the resources and accommodation to deliver all the Objectively Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) for the undergraduate courses.
The centre is also available for postgraduate training and has been used extensively by Foundation Year doctors and senior trainees in anaesthesia.
