Hey! Hope you’re doing well — just wanted to share HackBelfast, as I think it could be especially interesting for students in medicine and healthcare-related fields.

HackBelfast is Northern Ireland’s largest student-led hackathon, bringing together 200 of top students from across Ireland and the UK for an overnight weekend of building solutions to real-world problems on 25–26 April.

A big part of the event is our Non-Builder track, which is designed for students who do not need coding experience to take part. It is perfect for people who are strong at identifying real problems, thinking through user needs, and coming up with practical solutions. Participants can use AI tools like Lovable to prototype ideas quickly, so it is very accessible even for non-technical students.

For medical students in particular, it is a great chance to work on challenges around areas like patient experience, healthcare access, medical education, diagnostics, hospital systems, mental health, and digital health innovation.

We’re currently backed by OpenAI, Lovable, Trinity College Dublin, UCD, DCU, Hudson River Trading, Patch, Ormeau Labs, and many more, and there is also a £5,000+ prize pool.
