We want to bring to your attention the National Sarcoma Awareness Project, an initiative supported by two national charities, Bone Cancer Research Trust and Sarcoma UK.
The project aims to increase awareness about sarcoma. It offers medical students and resident doctors the opportunity to participate in a funded short-term clinical fellowship at a regional Sarcoma Centre. Past winners have observed multidisciplinary team meetings, contributed to research projects and posters, and participated in surgeries.
After reviewing a series of online resources, participants undertake a questionnaire to test their knowledge, then receive a certificate of completion, with the top scorers offered a fellowship.
In the spring, those who completed their placement are invited to be recognised at the British Sarcoma Group Conference, worth CPD points, which is taking place in Southampton (dates TBC).
