Audit Tools
AW has developed several audit tools. Two are available for download:
- The ‘readiness to prescribe questionnaire’ is a self-report, mixed qualitative and quantitative questionnaire, whose validation has been reported in a research publication.(Lee et al 2000) (Student) clinicians complete the instrument, which evaluates the educational culture and support given to their learning as well as their individual development as prescribers. This tool is designed to be used to quality-improve prescribing education.
- The diabetes inpatient audit tool. Following criteria developed by the UK National Diabetes Inpatient Audit project, this allows hospital staff to evaluate the quality of patients’ insulin therapy and involvement in their own care.
