Welcome Week: 16-20 September 2019

The Library

Queen's University has several libraries; the McClay library on the main campus, the Biomedical library on the MBC campus and the Medical library on the Royal Victoria Hospital campus. Watch the video below for an introduction to the medical library. You can also check out the library Key Links - the QUB library YouTube channel has some useful induction videos on using the library e.g. how to find and take books out on loans and the library subject guide to learn about resources available for medical students.

If you are unable to view the video in your browser watch it directly on YouTube

Study spaces

Thinking about study space is important. What type of environment works best for you? Is it somewhere quiet and orderly or somewhere with background buzz and more chaotic? As well as the more familiar spots such as the Medical and Biomedical libraries try out the McClay library where there are unique revision spaces such as the CS Lewis room on the first floor or the comfy chairs at the back overlooking the Botanic Gardens on the first and second floors.

The atrium in the new Law School has lots of seats and there are sockets at each of the sofas if you find your batteries running low - there is even the bonus of the Junction cafe. Seats and sofas can also be found in the ajoining Peter Froggatt Centre ground floor.

If you would like to get out into the rare bouts of sunshine but want to keep working why not download a few podcasts or even record your own notes and listen to those. Many devices have built in recording hardware and software.
